Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Dez Bryant Can Still Land Endorsement Deals Even With Temper Issues
Dez Bryant, who plays as a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, proved that he can still land himself endorsement deals even though he has temper issues.
The story of Bryant's life is no longer a secret to everyone. He had a disturbed childhood, having been born to a teenage mother. His mother was put in detention for dealing crack cocaine when he was only eight years old. During his high school life, Bryant has lived in eight different homes.
He had been involved in various troubles with the law, too. In 2011, Bryant was prosecuted for allegedly taking jewelries amounting to nearly $1 million. The following year, 2012, he was arrested on a class A misconduct cruelty for allegedly beating his mother.
His latest blowup? Bryant screamed at the official during the Cowboys' recent match against the Minnesota Vikings. Bryant took off his helmet and began screaming at the official who called him for an offensive pass. His gesture resulted in a penalty which caused the Cowboys losing an opportunity to attempt a third down play. The tantrum was his third in only a couple of weeks. In a game between the Cowboys and Detroit Lions, Bryant was caught in camera freaking out in the sidelines.
Despite all his brush-up with authorities and temper issues, Bryant has landed himself an endorsement deal with BioSteel Sports, a distributor of nutritional supplements.
"Dez Bryant is someone that we believe in," BioSteel President John Celenza told Forbes. "Dez is someone that we believe represents what we do and who we are," said Celenza. "He is very competitive like Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan," added Celenza.
Bryant was thankful of the opportunity. "I will not let you guys down," Bryant told Celenza. "I promise you I will never let you down," said Bryant.
Inevitably, Bryant's antics and drama in and out of the football field will always be a hot topic, but it doesn't matter as long as there are people who believe in him.
