“The Bachelor” avoided skin show in the premiere episode of “Dancing with the Stars” Season 20 that aired on March 17. Chris Soules was dressed in a plaid shirt for his debut performance with partner Witney Carson, who is DWTS reigning champion. Although he knows a shirtless performance is bound to happen, Chris told Access Hollywood that he is trying to avoid getting a spray tan.

However, his dancing partner, Witney hinted that it could happen later in the season. “We gotta save those tricks for later. We just gotta give America what they want,” she said. In last week's episode, Chris and Witney performed a jive that got them a score of 26 out of 40 points. The judges told that he has “T-rex arms”. Soules also told that his fiancée “trusts him” so a shirtless performance with his dance partner is not going to bother Whitney Bischoff.

Chris and Witney are rehearsing cha-cha for the episode to air on Monday, March 23. The Iowa farmer said that they started off with jive that needed the bending of the knees but for the cha-cha, he would not have to do that. Chris said that his fiancée has asked him to teach her his new moves. But “The Bachelor” informed that since he doesn’t know how to dance properly, he could not teach his fiancée at the moment, but would be able to do that in the near future.

The pair is not worried too much about the scores right now. Witney said that the judges told Chris that he needs to work on his posture, technique and other stuff, besides saying that he has potential. Julianne Hough asked Chris to work on his footwork, Bruno Tonioli was charmed and Carrie Ann Inaba told that he has “charisma out the ying-yang”. Len Goodman on the other hand felt that Chris is like a truck that needs polishing.

Soules also talked about his embellished costume on the premiere night. He informed that during the rehearsals there were no rhinestones on his shirt and he was happy. But just before the show began, the costume team took away his shirt and the buckle of his belt and he thought that they would probably iron it and give it back to him to put on. He told that when they got his outfit, it was full with the bling.

Meanwhile, Whitney would be on the show to cheer Chris. She posted on Twitter on March 21 saying that she could hardly wait to be back in Los Angeles to see her would-be-husband tackle the cha-cha.
