Dancing with The Stars (DWTS) Season 17 Finale Episode 1 Spoilers and Recap: Final Four Performances and Elimination
"Dancing with The Stars" (DWTS) Season 17 has reached its final rounds. The finale of this season has been split into two halves and the viewers witnessed mesmerizing Finale Episode 1 on Monday night, Nov. 25, 2013. During the episode the final four performed and one of them got eliminated. "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 17 Finale Episode 1 Spoilers and Recap
As announced the DWTS Season 17 Finale is not only split into two halves but also the first final round episode was split into three segments. (Click HERE to know more about DWTS Season 17 finale.) The show kicked off with a performance by Kellie Pickler on her single "Litle Bit Gypsy."
First Round: Judges' Pick
In the first round titled as "Judges' Pick," judges were to pick a routine performed earlier in the season that had a scope of improvement. All the four couples performed on one routine each from their previous dances in the show.
Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
Bill and Emma performed Viennese Waltz, one of the Week 5 performances which got them the same score as they did back then. Their scores were: 8+8+8= 24.
Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff
They redid Quickstep dance from Hollywood Night. Earlier on, the performance got them 26 scores out of 30. This time the scores were: 9+9+9=27.
Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
The couple performed Jive from Week 7 performances. Their scores dipped down from their previous scores 26. The scores this week are: 8+8+8= 24.
Amber Riley and Derek Hough
This couple redid Charleston from Week 3 performances. It seems they gave a perfect performance and improved immensely as their scores improved from 24 points previously to: 10+10+10=30.
Second Round: Samba Relay
In this round all the four couples danced to the tune of "No Scrubs" by TLC who played the music live in the studios as the couples took the stage one after the other.
Bill and Emma: 2 points
Jack and Cheryl: 3 points
Amber and Derek: 4 points
Corbin and Karina: 5 points
Third Round: Freestyle
The much awaited round of the Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) Season 17 Finale Episode 1 was Freestyle.
All the four couples performed Freestyle before facing the eliminations.
Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
This couple performed to Indian Jones theme song. The performance got them 25 scores.
Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff
One of the much praised routines of the night was performed by Corbin and Karina. They danced to Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal." Travis Payne, MJ's choreographer worked with the couple. "You killed it! You managed to combine some iconic Michael Jackson moves with amazing ballroom touches in a packaging that was pure Las Vegas magic," told Bruno Tonioli while praising the performance on the show. They got 30 points.
Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
Another highly praised routine from the night was Jack and Cheryl's freestyle performance. "My goodness, Jack! That was a showstopper! That was like a fairytale ending!" said Judge Carrie Ann. The other judge Bruno Tonioli said that it was tailored to perfection. They got 30 scores for their performance.
Amber Riley and Derek Hough
The last performance of the night was yet another perfect 30 dance by the couple. They performed western freestyle featuring step dancing.
"Dancing with The Stars" (DWTS) Season 17 Finale Episode 1: Elimination
For the "Dancing with The Stars" (DWTS) Season 17 Finale Episode 2 on Nov. 26, 2013 the lowest scoring couples chose the dance style for the highest scoring couple. Bill and Emma selected Quickstep and Samba for Derek and Amber. Jack and Cheryl chose Cha Cha and Foxtrot for Corbin and Karina. Corbin and Karina selected Paso and Salsa for Jack and Cheryl. And in the end Bill and Emma were given Jive and Quickstep to perform on.
But Dancing with The Stars (DWTS) Season 17 Finale Episode 1 also had elimination in store for the final four couples after three rounds of performances. The couple which said goodbye to the show just before the Finale Episode 2 was Bill Engvall and Emma Slater. According to the spoilers, DWTS in its final hours is going to get even more exciting with 24 hour Fusion Challenge.
