Bindi Irwin has been crowned the winner of “Dancing With The Stars” Season 21. She won the coveted Mirrorball trophy during the grand finale held on Tuesday. For Irwin, the daughter of Australian conservationist Steve Irwin, this was her first ever brush with dancing.
The 17-year-old Australian actress and TV presenter had been a strong contender for the trophy from the very beginning. The bubbly and smiling teen improved a lot under the guidance of her pro partner Derek. For the latter, it’s his sixth Mirrorball trophy.
Bindi and Derek performed the Viennese waltz on “Something on my Mind,” a repeat of their Week 8 routine. A Bindi was blindfolded for the dance, yet she was full of poise and grace as she concentrated on her dance with Derek.
She captivated the audience and the judges with her expressive dance routines. She got a perfect score of 30 for the fusion dance routine challenge. “I ’ve never seen anybody quite like you. You can struggle, but you can struggle with joy,” Derek said of his young partner.
Meanwhile, Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess were delcared the first runner-up, while Alek and Lindsay were the second runner-up.
