'Dancing With The Stars': Suzanne Somers And Tony Dovolani Eliminated, Rumer Tops In 'Disney Night'
The “Dancing With The Stars” Week 5 got off to a kicking start with “Disney Night” on April 13. The night brought out some great dances which were wicked, wonderful as well as magical and some truly stunning celebrations of the studio’s animated legacy. Disney movies like “Lady and the Tramp”, “Aladdin”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Mary Poppins” and “Frozen” came alive on the stage when the DWTS contestants chose to adapt songs from these classics for their routines this week.
Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani were eliminated this week in spite of them earning a score of 28. They did a jazz to “He’s A Tramp” from “Lady and the Tramp”. Somers even had a slip up during their routine. The dancing partners went through a very rough patch during rehearsal when Suzanne said she wanted to quit the show. Tony gave her a pep talk and they both got into form.
Rumer Willis walked away with the highest score of the night with 39 out of 40 points, turning purple to play the villainous character Ursula from “Little Mermaid”. Her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy went green to play her pet eel. The two rocked their chemistry with the passionate, aggressive and sexy samba. For once, Rumer’s dad Bruce Willis who was there in the audience couldn’t help but smile.
Riker Lynch and partner Allison Holker did Paso Doble to “He’s a Pirate” from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and looked every bit Captain Jack Sparrow that he played. But this week the couple is tied with Derek Hough and Nastia Liukin. Both the couples scored 38 points. Derek and Nastia did jazz to “Love Is An Open Door” from the movie “Frozen”, which was a light-hearted and fun routine.
Mark Ballas donned the rabbit costume and did a foxtrot to “Alice’s Theme” from “Alice In Wonderland”. Willow looked the perfect Alice trapped in a wonderland. Though last week the dancing duo scored the highest of the night, this week they got pushed to the fourth position with 34.
This week even Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess foxtrot to “A Whole New World” from Aladdin fail to make an impact getting them only 28 points. Chris Soules and Witney Carson’s Quickstep to “Zero to Hero” from “Hercules” earned them a mere 27. But, Chris looked good in his Hercules get up, while Witney looked beautiful. He made Witney cry during rehearsals. The dancing partners tied with Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev. Both Chris and Patti were injured last week during rehearsals. Robert Herjavec and his pro partner Kym Johnson trailed with only 24 points.
