"Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 19 (2014) is set to host its Semifinal round on Nov. 17, 2014. The show will see the top 5 couples perform to get closer to win the most coveted Mirror Ball trophy. However, one of the star performers dream may not be fulfilled as he might be compelled to pull out of the competition. Fan-favourite contestant Alfonso Rebeiro may have to drop out of the competition just few days before the finals.

In its recent report, TMZ stated that as per their sources, semifinalist Alfonso Ribeiro "injured his back" severely during dance rehearsal on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014. The accident reportedly took place when "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actor was trying to "overcompensate for a groin injury which he suffered on the show, performing his signature move."

The report notes that the wound is so bad that the "Broadway" performer is unable to even walk properly. Due to his appointment with the doctors for the MRI, "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) contestant passed over the Thursday rehearsals for his semifinal performance.

The actor has come out as a front runner of the competition alongside the dance pro Witney Carson. In week one of the show, Alfonso performed Jive and earned the highest points (36/40) among the 13 pairs. He has never appeared in danger zone and was speculated to be one of the finalists of the show. In his last performance in quarterfinals round, the actor performed foxtrot with his partner earning 37/40 points. As for his second routine, he performed Foxtrot alongside Witney and Lindsay Arnold and garnered perfect 40 score.

Report about his injury has been confirmed by E!Online. According to the report, the actor is currently "under medical supervision." It is unclear if Alfonso will be able to perform in the semifinal round or the rest of the season. The actor suffered the groin injury when he was rehearsing for his "Carlton" dance earlier this season. However, he was able to make it to the stage and deliver a top performance later.

The aforementioned publication spoke to Alfonso and asked him how he was recovering from his groin injury. The actor said that he was "doing a lot of treatment every week" from a therapist. The report notes that Alfonso's partner Witney also endured a back injury earlier this season.

Meanwhile, ABC reports that the actor is "working really hard" to be able to appear on Monday segment as well as continue on the show. On Sunday, the actor posted a tweet on his Twitter account expressing gratitude to his fans for support.

If Alfonso Ribeiro appears on "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 19 (2014) Semifinal/Week 10, he would be competing with Tommy Chong, Bethany Mota, Janel Parrish and Sadie Robertson. He is expected to perform Argentine tango and contemporary routines for his Plugged/Unplugged performances.
