Danica McKellar Gets Married In An Intimate Ceremony To Scott Sveslosky
Danica McKellar is officially off the single market. The "Wonder Years" star walked down the aisle with Scott Sveslosky in a private ceremony over the past weekend. The couple's close family members attended the wedding ceremony.
According to the actress' rep, it was an intimate ceremony and only few people were invited. "It was absolutely magical, we were married at 6:30 a.m. in a sunrise ceremony. The forecast predicted rain, but there was not a drop of water in the clear sky," Danica was quoted as saying by E!
Danica and Scott have been together since the actress filed for divorce from Mike Verta in 2013. The couple got engaged in July 2014. They have two kids Hunter 10, and Draco, 4. Hunter is Scott's son from his previous marriage, while Draco is Danica and her ex-husband Mike Verta's son.
For the wedding, Danica wore a beautiful mermaid dress by designer Alfred Angelo. She also wore an intricate headband and a dainty necklace. She kept her make-up simple. Reportedly, the duo wrote their vows themselves. They exchanged vows in front of 25 close friends and relatives, according to E!. They also did a sand pouring ritual. This ritual calls on the family members to pour different coloured sands in vases. Then the vases are kept at home.
The festivities took place at a beachfront in Kauai, Hawaii. Danica's mother Mahaila also performed a Hula dance for the couple. Mahaila is a professional dancer. Kauai was their honeymoon location, as well. During their time on the island, they indulged in adventurous activities such as surfing, kayaking, hiking and zip lining.
Danica is known for portraying Winnie Cooper in the television series "The Wonder Years." From 2012 to 2013, she appeared in three films, including "Mancation," "Love At The Christmas Table" and "The Wrong Woman." She has also written four books on the subject of maths. Most recently, she was seen dancing with Valentin Chmerkovskiy on "Dancing with the Stars" season 18. She was eliminated from the show in Week 8. Not many know that Danica has earned a bachelors degree in mathematics from UCLA.
Meanwhile, her better half Scott Sveslosky is an attorney by profession. He is a partner at the Los Angeles legal firm Sheppard Mullin Richter and Hampton.
