Daniel Cormier Has A ‘Dear Jon’ Message to Jon Jones, Vows to Emerge As New Champion At UFC 182
Daniel Cormier has a precise and short message for rival Jon Jones leading up to their fight on Jan. 3 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The undefeated challenger again called out the current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion by saying that "Bones" is a phony and that he is displaying a façade in the public eye.
"I cannot wait to share the Octagon with you on Jan. 3. I respect you as competitor and I respect you as the long reigning champ, but what I don't respect is that you are not honest with me and the people. I can't wait to get in the cage, we're gonna put on a hell of a fight and DC is gonna be the new UFC light heavyweight champion," Cormier delivered during a television stint at @ The Buzzer
The fresh message must be the retaliation of the American mixed martial arts fighter after Jon "Bones" Jones criticized him for talking too much and having little skills in the ring to back it up. The reigning UFC light heavyweight champ compared Cormier to renowned former commentator Chael Sonnen who was versatile and was one of the best in the trash talking department. Jones was not particularly impressed by the last win of the Olympic wrestler over Dan Henderson in UFC 173. Cormier come out of that fight a victor via a rear naked choke in the third round of the match but Jones pointed out that his rival was fighting a 50 year old man when he was a springy and youthful 27 ripe years of age.
The two fighters have a lot of bad blood which is incidentally the title of the upcoming television special which will air Sunday on FOX Sports 1. Both men were sanctioned with fines after they were involved in an altercation during a press conference last August.
Jones and Cormier butted heads when they were just supposed to measure each other during a face-off, which escalated to a lot of pushing and shoving. Since then, both sides have been bickering to the point of Cormier questioning the fakeness of Jones' character. The two fighters will finally settle the score in a matter of days and only then will the public see who really deserves to be crowned the UFC's best light heavyweight.
