Daniel Craig may be playing the role of a stormtrooper in the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The actor is known for playing the role of James Bond on screen. The actor has so far not confirmed his role in the sci-fi movie.

A new report suggests that past rumours about Daniel Craig playing the role of a stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" may be true. According to MiketheFilmGuy, multiple sources have confirmed that the actor will be a soldier in the Empire's army in the upcoming movie.

The report does not specify how long the actor will feature in the movie or if he will have any lines. It also does not specify whether the fans will get to see the actor without a helmet in the movie. The report, however, asked the fans to note any familiar voice by one of the stormtroopers when the movie gets released.

Traditionally, the stormtroopers were clones that were specifically made to fight the war raging in the galaxy. They were later used as an instrument to bring the planets in the galaxy under the fold of the evil Empire. The prequel movies showed that all the stormtroopers look alike, as they were all cloned using the DNA of a bounty hunter named Jango Fett. The role was played by Temuera Morrison in the movies.

The first official trailer of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" showed the actor John Boyega wearing a stormtrooper's uniform. Although the producers did not confirm that he will be a part of the Empire's army, fans of the franchise gave some strong reactions for casting the actor in the role. The debate on social media quickly became about race.The hashtag #blackstormtrooper started trending on Twitter soon after the trailer was released.

The plot of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been set 30 years after the events of the original trilogy. Some of the fans who have not watched the animation series from the franchise did not know that the Empire started to recruit people as stormtroopers during the last 30 years and did not rely only on the clones.
