Daniel Fleetwood has lost his battle with spindle cell sarcoma and has died at the age of 32. Daniel was a “Star Wars” super fan and he was granted his final wish of seeing “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” before he passed away.

Daniel’s wife Ashley shared an emotional message on Facebook informing every one of her husband’s death.

“Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero. Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love,” she wrote.

Ashley added a photo of her and Daniel with her message. The picture shows them both wearing “#FORCEFORDANIEL” t-shirts. “This was the last selfie we ever took together, “Ashley said of the photo.

In a recent Facebook post, Ashley revealed “the celebration of life for Daniel” will be held at Cason and Monk and Metcalf funeral home in Nacogdoches Texas. The service will be on Nov. 21 and it will start at 2:00 pm.

According to Comic Book Movie, Daniel was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma in July and was told that he only had two months left to live. His final wish before his death was to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” When fellow “Star Wars” fans and cast members of the J.J. Abrams’ film heard about it they banded together and started an online petition called #ForceForDaniel to grant him his wish.

Among the cast members of the film who lobbied for Daniel were Daisy Ridley (Rey), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and John Boyega (Finn). Hamill and Boyega even took to Twitter to honour his loyalty to the “Star Wars” saga and for thanking people who had granted his wish.

Daniel was given a private screening of an unedited version of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at his home on Saturday, Nov. 7. Ashley documented the moment on Facebook in a series of snaps showing Daniel posing for photos with some men dressed as Stormtroopers and Rebel warriors. Abrams was also on hand during the screening, according to RT.com.
