Daniel Radcliffe Talks Harry Potter Romance, Thinks Ron and Hermione are Perfect for Each Other
Daniel Radcliffe has a problem with how he portrayed Harry Potter because he thinks his acting on the first six instalments was sub-par. However, he does not have a problem with the storyline, particularly on the issue of Ron ending up with Hermione instead of Harry. A new report claims he thinks Ron and Hermione should be left alone.
Daily Star UK reports that even though it has been years since the eight-instalment movie series ended, fans of the breakthrough books (turned movies) still could not sit well with the writer, J.K. Rowling's decision to pair Ron and Hermione instead of Hermione and Harry. Daniel is not one of these fans.
Some fans just do not feel convinced by the Ron Weasley-Hermione Granger pair up. The first book featured them hating each other's guts, since bumbling Ron just cannot do anything right in the eyes of uptight Hermione Granger. And now, fans have to swoon over their wedding bliss? Daniel Radcliffe thinks so anyway.
"I was perfectly happy with the way everything ended. I felt like Harry and Hermione would have been a bit of a predictable way to go, if anything. It definitely wasn't something I thought needed changing," claims the "What If" star.
J.K. Rowling herself even admitted she regretted the pairing in an interview with quarterly lifestyle magazine, Wonderland.
"If I'm absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility," stated Rowling. Even Emma Watson, who played Hermione, agreed with the writer stating: "I think there are fans out there who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her (Hermione) happy."
Well, weirder things have happened in the Wizarding world to make this an issue further. Real life pairings are hardly perfect either!
Daniel Radcliffe has moved on to different projects after playing Harry Potter for so long. He is currently involved in a project where he had to wear horns. The actor is said to be ecstatic about his costume because the horns made him feel empowered and strong.
