The director and supporting stars of "The Dark Knight Rises" may be biased in their own reviews, but their comments will have to do for now.

Here are bits of what series director Christopher Nolan had to say about the much-awaited Batman installment.

"It's the biggest story I've told and I'm very excited about it. It's got an enormous amount of things in it that I'm very passionate about it. So, at the moment I'm just really enjoying it," says Nolan. Gamenguide.com quoted him from an e-mail interview.

Nolan notes that "The Dark Knight Rises" is an epic Batman serving, and hints that the fans will not be disappointed in seeing the film.

"By all accounts, 'The Dark Knight Rises' is the definition of epic - shooting on location across three continents, with a daring aerial stunt sequence, a massive crowd scene involving explosions and over 10,000 extras, and a full complement of new gadgets and vehicles. But for me, the massive scale is almost secondary to the emotional headwinds the characters are facing. They (characters) are larger than life and I will miss that because that is not something you can apply to an ordinary story," he said further.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman

Joseph Gordon-Levitt also shared his insights on Gotham City Police Commissioner John Blake, his role in the film.

"What I love about John Blake is that he's an idealist amongst cynics. Gotham has become a cynical place. People are going with the status quo, and the fat cats are getting fatter. He's this rookie cop who's like, 'Wait a minute,' and asking questions," he told MTV news.

Speaking on the Tonight Show on Wednesday night, Morgan Freeman said he thought Nolan couldn't possibly outdo himself but "he did it."

Yeah, this one was one of the most fantastic movies I ever saw," said Freeman.
