'The Dark Knight Rises' Third Trailer Amplifies Anticipation for Nolan's Film [VIDEOS]
Eager fans of Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy unlocked the third trailer for the upcoming Batman film in a matter of hours, scouring the cyberspace for clues left by Warner Brothers in web sites all over the world in a clever viral marketing.
The feat is a testament to how highly anticipate “The Dark Knight Rises” had become, ensuring that Warner Brothers will definitely have a blockbuster on hand come July.
The second trailer was viewed by over 12.5 million times on iTunes within 24-hours since it went online, besting the previous record set by “The Avengers” which went on to have a strong opening breaking records left and right (down here in Australia, “The Avengers” had the second highest-grossing opening). The second installment on Nolan’s trilogy “The Dark Knight” also grossed over $1 billion in the worldwide box office back in 2008. The third video also quickly garnered more than 1 million hits on YouTube as of posting time. If these are any indication, “The Dark Knight Rises” will definitely end the trilogy with a loud bang.
Opening on July 20, 2012, "The Dark Knight Rises” features an international all-star cast led by Christian Bale, who won an Oscar for his turn in 2010 film "The Fighter", reprising the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the third time.
The film also stars Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, who is seen uttering “ominous” things in the trailer. “The Dark Knight Rises” will also serve as some sort of on-screen reunion for the cast of another Nolan film, the mind-blowing “Inception.” Tom Hardy will portray the villain Bane, who is intent to make life miserable for the superhero, while Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a young beat cop in Gotham City.
Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman will reprise their roles in the previous films for the final installment in Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
“The Dark Knight Rises” is undoubtedly a Christopher Nolan film, with the acclaimed director directing, writing and producing the superhero movie. That alone is worth the ticket price! Are you happy with the new trailer? Tell us in comments!
