“Dark Souls 3” players are not up for an easier time playing the game as of yet. The latest fix deployed had been pulled back, as it only resulted in freezing issues in a number of PC players.

Because of the widespread freezing issue, developer From Software had decided to pull it back from the market, Eurogamer reported. For now, there is still no window for the release of the patch.

The update is supposed to deal with the cheats that “Dark Souls 3” fans are encountering. The sad thing is that the latest patch had made the game worse, if it wasn’t already from all the unaccounted for banning.

“Players that fall victim of online issues will not be penalized if they are innocent,” said From Software as quoted by Eurogamer.

Instead of the widespread banning, From Software also promised another way to deal with the cheating. According to the report, it will now analyse all of the accounts that have been flagged as cheating, to see what punishment should be appropriately delivered.

The cheating issue in “Dark Souls 3” has been a problem as early as the days following its launch. Sadly, the developer has not provided the best solution to deal with it. In an earlier report, Kotaku stated that From Software had started issuing bans for what appears to be no reason at all.

The source stated that one of the reasons that the ban could happen even without the player’s actual hand in cheating is the same problem that had plagued “Dark Souls 2.” Trading items or picking up an item that used cheats could easily infect the unknowing player.

It becomes even worse in “Dark Souls 3” because one of the goals and perks was to trade with other players. This is not solved by the sweeping solution of scanning players for data containing cheats. Any corrupted data, even those that can be obtained from simply getting a weapon that a player did not know was infected, can end up with a ban.

The upcoming patch is expected to alleviate some of the instances of “innocent bans.” But at the rate that the patch is going, players may still need to wait a while.
