Darren McMullen has admitted that he has split from his "The Voice" colleague Delta Goodrem, but insisted that they weren't actually together. The TV presenter said that while they had something going on, they never really dated.

Talking to the radio show "Kyle and Jackie O," the McMullen, 31, answered a fan question on why he and the 28-year-old singer-actress separated.

"Me and Delta were never dating. We had something going on, but we were never dating," he maintained.

He sidestepped the question asking if they were exclusive, and instead replied that they were "just two very young single people who would hold hands occasionally."

McMullen and Delta, who work together in the reality talent competition show as host and coach respectively, were reportedly spotted kissing at Lady Gaga's concert in Sydney last June. However, after two months, the two had apparently moved on.

He claimed that they are still "very, very close" though.

"I feel really sorry for her actually," he added, referring to Goodrem's alleged involvement with the other male stars of the show. "They're kinda palming her off on everybody on the show. She had a stage there with Joel Madden, then it was Seal, then it was me and then it's back to Seal again.

"I imagine it's going to be Ricky Martin in a couple of weeks."
