Dave Grohl keeps his promise to 'Rockin1000' and announces concert in Italy

It’s now official. Foo fighters will be visiting Cesana, Italy on Nov. 3 to honour the “Rockin1000” video that went viral last December.
“Rockin1000,” comprising of 350 guitarists, 250 singers, 250 drummers and 150 bassists performed the Foo Fighter’s “Learn To Fly” as one unit last July to invite the Foo Fighters.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl posted a reply via a video message on YouTube where he thanked all the “Rockin1000” for their efforts and promised that they will come to Italy. Making good on his promise, Grohl has now officially announced the concert date on the band’s official website:
“Ever since that day we have been looking forward to this incredible experience. We’re happy to finally announce that it will happen on 3 November at Carisport.”
“We are beyond excited an honored to come play for Cesena. An experience like this comes once in a lifetime, so I’m looking forward to a once in a lifetime show,” he added.
The frontman also shared via the announcement post that initially, he ignored the messages sent to him about the video thinking that it was just another prank. However, after the 10,000th message, he was in awe with what he saw.
The message reads, “Assuming it was just another 'CAT GETTING STUCK IN A PAPER BAG' video, I didn’t bite at first, but after the 10,000th message, I clicked the link and was absolutely blown away by what I saw. To see so many people put so much time, and effort, and love into making music moved me to tears.”
The viral video has since garnered over 25 million views on YouTube.
Fabio Zaffagani, the organiser and man behind the video, finally met the Foo Fighters in person at the Washington Park Community Center last Aug. 15 according to Alternative Nation.
The concert in Cesana will kickoff the European leg of the band’s tour for the Sonic Highways album, with the final concert to be held on Nov. 19 in Barcelona, Spain.
