David Beckham First Global Digital Book Signing on Wednesday at the Facebook Digital Stadium
Superstar David Beckham's digital book signing took place on Wednesday at the Facebook Digital Stadium in London.
Beckham is collectively known as the most admired sportsperson in the planet. He has launched his self-titled book to celebrate his remarkable 20-year career in football. He dropped by the offices of Facebook in London to sign digital copies of his new book. Fans have to register and sign up on Facebook to participate in the first-ever digital book signing. Fans were also encouraged to ask David a question by simply typing it on the comments section of one of his posts.
His fans had mixed emotions. There were some who truly enjoyed watching David answer their questions live and got for themselves a copy of his digital signature. However, there were some fans who were just unfortunate. "I am very upset," a fan named Alma Carreno posted on David's wall. "I registered for the FB Digital Stadium, listen to the whole interview, and I did not get a signed anything posted on my personal FB," Carreno added.
With billions of fans all over the world, it would be difficult for David and his management team to really accommodate them in a single event, especially an online one. Devoted Beckham fans couldn't have more enjoyed watching the said event because it is not always that they see their icon on the television, unlike before when he was still playing.
One of the topics that popped up during the event was regarding the very last game he played soccer professionally. "I knew that it was going to be difficult to get through, not only for me, but also for my family," said David as reported by HELLO! "I cried and just broke down, it was something that I didn't want to do, but I just couldn't control my feelings," David added.
Beckham posted a status on his Facebook after the event. "It was incredible to meet everyone in New York City, Sao Paulo, Hyderabad, and London," wrote David. "I hope that everyone who watched at home has enjoyed it as much as I did, thank you - DB," he wrote.
