David Beckham included in LA Galaxy contingent to Australia
David Beckham will be in Australia as part of the Los Angeles Galaxy contingent to play against Newcastle United Jets.
Beckham joins Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle in headlining the Galaxy contingent for the match in Australia. The Los Angeles Galaxy 22-man contingent will arrive on Thursday in Australia.
The Los Angeles Galaxy friendly against the Newcastle United Jets of Australia's Hyundai A-League, will be shown live on Fox Soccer Channel on Saturday, November 27. The game will be held on EnergyAustralia Stadium in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
The Qantas Challenge broadcast will start at 12am with a 30-minute pregame show. Fox Soccer Channel will also air a 30-minute postgame show, with interviews with the players, possibly including David Beckham, and reaction to the friendly from audience at the stadium.
The friendly against 2008 Hyundai A-League Grand Final champion Newcastle United Jets will be Los Angeles Galaxy's second trip to Australia in the last four years. The club has previoulsy played against Sydney FC at Telstra Stadium in November 2007, attended by more than 80, 000 fans in Australia.
