David Beckham and other members of the Los Angeles Galaxy team arrived today in Newcastle for their friendly game against the Newcastle United Jets on Saturday. Their flight landed at Newcastle Airport past 11 o'clock in the morning. However, Beckham and his team were quickly whisked away without being interviewed by the media.

The Los Angeles Galaxy friendly against the Newcastle United Jets of Australia's Hyundai A-League, will be shown live on Fox Soccer Channel. The game will be held in EnergyAustralia Stadium in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

The Qantas Challenge broadcast will start at 12am with a 30-minute pregame show. Fox Soccer Channel will also air a 30-minute postgame show, with interviews of players, possibly including David Beckham.

The friendly game against 2008 Hyundai A-League Grand Final champion Newcastle United Jets will be Los Angeles Galaxy's second trip to Australia in the last four years. The club has previoulsy played against Sydney FC at Telstra Stadium in November 2007 and was attended by more than 80, 000 fans.
