Retired soccer superstar David Beckham will launch his new book on Oct 30. Beckham will make use of the technology to digitally sign the book so that his fans from all over the world get to receive his signature. Beckham teamed up with Facebook to make it possible. He also announced the news on the popular networking Web site.

"In partnership with Facebook, I want to do a truly global signing to coincide with the launch of my new book," Beckham posted. "The whole event will be broadcast live on my Facebook page starting at 3 p.m. BST on Oct 30," he added.

Beckham will probably be the first one to host a book-signing event on Facebook. All the fans in London, New York, Sao Paulo or Hyderabad can register on Facebook to win a chance to participate in the said event and receive a personalised digital signature from the sports icon.

For fans who are not in those cities, they will not be disappointed because they can watch a live question and answer session at the Facebook Digital Stadium when Beckham will be answering questions from his followers and fans from anywhere in the world.

"I always like original and innovate ideas," said Beckham during a press conference about the said digital book-signing event. "What has been created is ambitious, however, it should be a fantastic event," he added. "I love having interaction with my fans, and I will be able to sign for them in different locations all over the world," said Beckham.

This event is surely a revolutionary way of launching and signing books. Beckham will be able to gather all his fans from all over the world and bring them all together. Facebook is definitely a place where people can communicate and connect with each other. It is nice how a celebrity like Beckham use the technology to reach out to his fans all throughout the world.
