International football superstar, David Beckham, may have retired from professional football, but he still manages to keep himself relevant and in the spotlight by dabbling into various projects in and out of football. He is turning 40 next year and he says that for him, the midlife crisis came early and he is not afraid of getting old.

His latest project, a line of motorcycle jackets and other biker clothes and accessories was launched with luxury menswear brand Belstaff. The launch coincided with New York Fashion week where David also made an appearance to support his wife, Victoria. She has become a full blown fashion designer after hanging up her microphone following a successful career as an international pop star with British girl group Spice Girls.

During the interviews granted to the press during the launch of the David Beckham line for Belstaff, the former England Captain told the Telegraph that he is looking forward to his birthday next year. He said that he had a very successful career on the football pitch and now he has also started a good career off the pitch since he retired from professional football a year and a half ago.

During his football career, Beckham played for some of the greatest clubs in the world including Manchester United in England, Real Madrid in Spain and A.C. Milan in Italy. His career also took him to French champions Paris Saint Germain and spent a large chunk of his career in the U.S. playing for Los Angeles Galaxy. He also held the reigns as English Football National Team Captain for 59 international games.

Beckham also said that he has an amazing wife in Victoria and together they have four amazing children. Now, that his professional football career has come to an end he says that he is fortunate to be working with companies like Belstaff. He is also currently featuring in an underwear collection by Swedish retail giant H&M, where he shows off his rock hard physique.

In connection with the line of biker wear that he designed with Belstaff, Beckham shared that he started riding bikes eight years ago and joked that his midlife crisis started early. Unlike other men who are nearing middle-aged status, he is looking forward to a low key celebration when the big 4-0 arrives for him in May next year.
