David Beckham Thinks Lebron James Would Be of Great Help for MLS Franchise
David Beckham has reportedly been flying in and out of Miami to meet potential investors for his Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, as well as, to find the best football stadium.
After his retirement, Beckham has constantly been looking for the perfect place in the U.S. to setup the franchise. Miami is believed to be place that the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Los Angeles Galaxy player wants for his future soccer team.
Beckham would have to raise hundreds, if not millions, of dollars to cover all the cost for setting up such soccer club.
"We are still in the planning stage," said the source close to Beckham. "There is a lot of excitement here," the source added. "We want to make sure that this franchise last for a long time so we need to find the right partners and we need things to be right based on a local, national and global level," the source concluded.
According to the grapevine, the retired soccer superstar thinks that Lebron James can help him with the said soccer franchise. The representatives of Beckham and James have already met, reported by The Mirror UK. However, both parties want to finalise the deal prior to making the official announcement.
Beckham has met James when he watched a Miami Heat game. James, who claims to be one of Beckham's fans, was ecstatic to have met the soccer superstar.
"I met David when he watched the Heat play," said James. "I would like to get to know him more because he seems like a cool guy," he said. "I would also like to invite David and his family around our home so they can have dinner with us and my family, we live in a great neighborhood and it will be nice to have him as a neighbor," said James.
Beckham is hoping to build his soccer team soon and have it compete by 2016.
