David Beckham's lawsuit against In Touch magazine can lead to an "enormous damages award" against the US gossip magazine, according to a letter from Los Angeles attorney Bert H. Deixler.

The letter was sent to In Touch prior to the publication of the alleged David Beckham's cheating with a prostitute. The letter, of course, went unheeded as In Touch pursued publication of Irma Nici's claims two days upon receipt of the Deixler's letter.

Deixler's letter further read: "The story you propose to run about Mr Beckham and a prostitute is a lie. The allegations are unequivocally denied."

Now, In Touch is under fire as David Beckham takes legal action against the magazine and its publisher. Irma Nici, in a story published by US magazine In Touch, claimed that she had sexual ecounters with David Beckham, twice: oncein New York and once in London. Recent reports quotes her as saying that she had slept with Beckham five times.

Beckham's camp had repeatedly denied that David had an affair with Nici and has taken steps to sue In Touch magazine for libel. The Beckham couple said that the allegations made by Irma Nici in In Touch is "completely untrue and totally ridiculous." The couple had already taken legal recouse in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The latest development in Beckham's legal action is that Irma Nici, the $10000 a-night escort who claimed to have sexual encounter with David Beckham, has been served a legal writ for £5 million.
