David Cameron Defends Pregnant Kate Middleton Over Hilary Mantel Comments [PHOTOS]
The Duchess of Cambridge has got the Prime Minister on her side: David Cameron released statements defending Catherine against the "plastic princess" comments said by Hilary Mantel in her new book.
As soon as Kate Middleton was catapulted into the spotlight, her grace, elegance and fashion sense were the first ones to be noticed by the public. This is why British author, Hilary Mantel, labeled the new Duchess as a "plastic princess," and "jointed doll which certain rags are hung."
Many Royal Couple supporters find these comments harsh and untrue, including British Prime Minister, David Cameron, who stood in defense of the Duchess in a report posted by Marie Claire.
"What I've seen of Kate at public events, at the Olympics and elsewhere, is someone who's bright, who's engaging, who's a fantastic ambassador for Britain," defends the Prime Minister in the post.
"We should be proud of that, rather than make these rather misguided remarks." added Cameron in the same report.
True enough, Catherine has done many diplomatic things for Britain and the rest of the world each time she steps out, it only happens that she is fashionable and stylish that's why some people see her as "plastic" and fake.
Another high profile personality defending the pregnant Duchess is British Labour Leader, Ed Miliband, who believes Britain needs to support Catherine in all of her endeavors.
"These are pretty offensive remarks, I don't agree with them. Kate Middleton is doing a brilliant job in a difficult role. She's a huge asset to the country. She deserves our support." Claims Miliband in the same report."
Yesterday, Catherine officially stepped out for the first time for Action on Addiction's London charity event, wearing a MaxMara dress that showed her bulging baby bump. It is clear that though pregnant and experiencing health difficulties, she is determined to prove that she deserves to be on the global pedestal she is now.
