'Days Of Our Lives' spoilers for June 16: Kayla and Steve are in a state while Joey fights for his life

It’s another highly emotional episode on “Days of Our Lives” (“DOOL”) on Thursday. After taking the bullet during a hostage incident, Joey (James Lastovic) has to undergo a risky surgery that could endanger his life. His parents, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) feel helpless, and all they could do is to wait and pray for the best.

Other “Days Of Our Lives” cast members who will figure prominently on the June 16 installment include Jade (Paige Searcy), Kate (Lauren Koslow), Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier), Nicole (Arianne Zucker), Dario (Jordi Villasuso), Chad (Billy Flynn), Ciara (Vivian Jovanni), John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall).

TV Guide reports that on Thursday’s run of “DOOL,” John goes home to Marlena, while Chad says sorry to Ciara for acting inappropriately when he got drunk. Meanwhile, Joey’s parents and girlfriend anxiously wait for feedback about his surgery at a California hospital. Elsewhere, while Nicole and Dario are stuck at the Kiriakis mansion, they see Philip arrive to visit Kate.

"Days Of Our Lives" soap recap

On Wednesday, Nicole and Dario broke into the Kiriakis mansion and searched for proof against Kate. Meanwhile, Kate was busy with some evidence herself – she took a bloodied handkerchief to the river and dipped it into the water and mud before leaving. She then arrived at the mansion, and Dario and Nicole sneaked into the closet to hide. At the station, Victor told Roman that Nicole came to him “with a hare-brained scheme” to get Deimos’ fortune. Victor said he can only guess, but his theory is that Nicole planned to marry Deimos then kill him. Victor continued, claiming that he tried to stop her and told Nicole to leave his brother alone.

Elsewhere, Rafe and Blanca walked in on Aiden and Hope, who are on a date. Later, Aiden walked Hope home. While they did not kiss, they agreed to go out again. Once alone, Aiden received a call. It was Andre, who implored Aiden to release him from prison by tomorrow or he'll tell Hope everything.
