'Days Of Our Lives' spoilers for Sept. 22: A Salemite goes head to head with a fugitive; a dire situation brings Chad and Gabi closer

Another heart-stopping, emotionally-charged episode awaits “Days Of Our Lives” (“DOOL”) fans on its upcoming episode. On Thursday, Chad (Billy Flynn) and Gabi (Camila Banus) form a deeper bond as they spend time together while still trapped inside the panic room. Followers of the NBC soap wonder whether this leads to romance between the two.

Meanwhile, Steve (Stephen Nichols) faces a dangerous scuffle against Orpheus (George DelHoyo). Steve arrives home, only to be presented with a shocking, unpleasant surprise: his family is being held hostage by the prison escapees. Other “Days Of Our Lives” cast members who will figure prominently on the Sept. 22 installment include Hope (Kristian Alfonso), Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Joey (James Lastovic), Theo (Kyler Pettis), Clyde (James Read) and Xander (Paul Telfer).

TV Guide reports that on Thursday’s run of “DOOL,” Hope and Aiden have an awkward encounter, while Theo finds himself in a sticky spot. Meanwhile, Chad and Gabi find a common ground when they talk about their past. Elsewhere, Steve is horrified to see Orpheus holding his family hostage.

In the previous episode, the Salemites experience a lockdown. Hope was at Jennifer’s house with Jennifer, Julie, Claire and Ciara, but she left to go to the pub. Later, everyone panicked when they realise Claire went off and escaped. Meanwhile, Gabi headed to the DiMera mansion to bring Chad’s suit. Suddenly, the power went out across the whole city. Hope was left stuck with Aiden at the pub, Claire wandered through the square, while Chad and Gabi were locked inside the panic room. Elsewhere, Orpheus and Clyde broke in Kayla’s house. Steve left for a bit to buy her medicine, while Joey was outside trying to call Jade.
