'Deadpool 2' spoilers: Here's what Josh Brolin looks like as Cable

You might remember the post-credits scene in “Deadpool” where instead of teasing what is to come, the merc with a mouth went ahead and told viewers that Cable will be in the second movie. Later, it was announced that Josh Brolin signed up for the role. Where Cable and Deadpool will go together remains to be seen, but what can be revealed now is how Josh Brolin has been preparing for this role, and it looks like he is geared up for an intergalactic adventure.

Josh Brolin is currently Thanos in the Marvel cinematic universe, but he is set to take on the role of another beloved comic book character in “Deadpool 2.” From a planet-eating god-like character, Brolin has beefed up to take on the role of Cable.

In his Instagram account, Brolin showed off his workout regimen. He is closely guided by Rob Liefeld. Brolin is seen in an orange Gold’s Gym tank top, his arms and chest looking pumped and ripped to the flesh.

After getting really ripped for the role, Brolin has been seen sporting a new haircut identical to that of Cable’s, notes Screen Rant. Marvel surprised a lot of people when they cast Brolin as Cable. A lot of actors have played multiple superheroes, but not prolific ones at the same time.

Cable is one of the biggest characters in the Marvel Universe and is one of the more iconic members of X-Men. When the character was first announced, a lot of actors including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Shannon, Brad Pitt and Josh Brolin himself were rumoured for the role. Pitt ended up as the more popular choice, and several fan art entries depicted him as the time-travelling son of Cyclops, which could have meant that casting rumours had been taken seriously.

Of course, fans are more than excited to see what “Deadpool 2” has to bring when it releases next year. “Deadpool” was not the first comic book movie to be rated R, but its tremendous success paved the way to let Hugh Jackman pursue an R rating for “Logan” as well. Ryan Reynold’s performance as Deadpool is also accurate and faithful so a lot of fans cannot wait to see more of it.
