Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not dead; a report on the former wrestler’s demise is just a hoax, and the 41-year-old star is very much alive.

According to a cruel report generated by the Global Associated News, Johnson died while filming a movie in New Zealand.

“Actor Dwayne Johnson died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning – April 7, 2014,” the false report reads.

“Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on set. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 am.”

Hundreds of fans duped by the report quickly turned to Facebook and Twitter to express their condolences, although there are also those who were immediately sceptical of the news.

Not only is Johnson not dead, he is also not anywhere near New Zealand when his “death” apparently happened.

The “Pain & Gain” star is in New Orleans in the U.S., and is actively tweeting about wrestling.

Just received this amazing gift... Whoa. Back when I was 24yrs old and wrestling in Tennessee flea… http://t.co/OJE8mRADyv

His rep also disproved the report, saying, “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimised by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see.”

This isn’t the first time Johnson has been falsely rumoured dead.

In May 2011, a similar report surfaced online, which claimed almost exactly the same thing about his supposed death. According to the “news,” he had an accident on the set of a movie while in New Zealand.

“I would love to meet the person who is starting rumours of my death – to show them how a dead foot feels up their ass,” he addressed the claim on Twitter.

Johnson will be seen next as the titular character in “Hercules,” a new film based on the Greek demigod. It will be released in July.
