'Death Stranding' cast Mads Mikkelsen hints at Stefanie Joosten's involvement
The “Death Stranding” cast may see the addition of another star in the form of Stefanie Joosten. Though such speculations had been brought up before, rumours of Joosten’s involvement have recently surfaced thanks to an update from Mads Mikkelsen on social media.
As GamingBolt reports, Mikkelsen, who is also part of the game’s cast and has been heavily featured in other theories relating to Hideo Kojima’s latest project, recently shared an article that talked about Joosten’s previous tweet which showed her posing with a photo of the "Star Wars: Rogue One" star. Speculations of Joosten’s involvement grew after the aforementioned photo had been posted, but what’s more suspicious now is how Mikkelsen’s Twitter account deleted the retweet regarding Joosten just shortly after sharing it.
Speculations regarding Joosten’s possible addition to the cast are not without grounds. For one, she is no stranger to Kojima and his team, having previously worked together for another Kojima title with “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” back in 2015. Moreover, at a previous fan event, Joosten was asked if she would be participating in “Death Stranding.” The Dutch actress refused to comment, which only fuelled more talks regarding her involvement in the game.
Despite recent events and signs pointing to yes, Joosten’s addition to the game has yet to be officially confirmed. How she will be worked into the story and who or what she may portray is still unknown, though the game’s fans have been rather active in coming up with theories on the game’s plot on their own.
Other updates on the forthcoming project detailed “The Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus’ character in the game. At the recent Tribeca Games Festival, Kojima discussed updates on the game, going on to share that Reedus’ character will be having several costumes, equipment and hairstyles throughout the game. Additionally, Kojima revealed that his team was already running tests on the game, especially in terms of its characters in relation to the game’s environment.
“Let’s say that Norman’s character is walking in New York (and the game is not set in New York, this is just an example), we’re trying to see if what we can depict with the Decima Engine actually looks like New York, if it scales correctly and feels good there,” Kojima explained, as per DualShockers. “Let’s say the character goes in an Italian restaurant, who the character meets going into the restaurant, what he will be eating, all those details are decided. What we’re working right now on is what kind of tables will be there, the specific dialogue, what is gonna be the menu of this restaurant… Those things are the things that we’re tuning right now.”
