Delayed Release of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Pushing Galaxy Note 2 to Near Stock Outs?
Is it possible that Samsung's inventory of the Galaxy Note 2 is running short of supply due to brisk sales movement, at least in select U.S. markets?
For instance, the Galaxy Note 2 on T-Mobile is selling like hotcakes despite the roller-coaster move of its price tag, a new report said, adding that stock outs of the popular phablet will likely follow soon.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, the white version of the 5.5-inch smartphone is currently labelled by T-Mobile as unavailable, and there is no word from the telco when the status will be changed to available mode.
The rush is partly caused by shifted attention, meaning consumers dismayed by the non-arrival of the Galaxy Note 3 chose to get the next best thing - the Note 2.
In esrly 2013 it was rumoured that Samsung plans to debut its new and more powerful phablet via the 2013 MWC for a Q1 2013 release. But the device was a complete no show, and reports emerged that it will be released instead on Q3 2013.
It's possible that consumers planning to try out the phablet experience took the plunge on the Note 2, which is the best that they can get at the moment.
However, pricing also played a big factor in the reported demand surge for the Note 2, according to analysts, pointing to recent price deals offered by major retailers and distributors like Amazon Wireless, RadioShack, Best Buy, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.
Checking on the promos being dangled by these firms, the Note 2 price tag hovers between $US70 and $US200, giving enough reason for buyers not to wait out for its replacement.
T-Mobile, for example, has been attracting much attention despite flashing the highest mark among the discounts offered on the Samsung phablet.
But the unique come-on of the T-Mobile package is the continuous rollout of its 4G-LTE network that allows new subscribers to enjoy high-speed wireless broadband access.
Between now and the next few months, experts expect the Galaxy Note 2 to lure more buys as the Galaxy Note 3 is not due to arrive until September 2013.
