Disney Channel star Demi Lovato was sent to a rehab after an altercation with a dancer from her tour. Lovato checked in on a medical facility early this week to seek professional help.

According to reports in the media, Lovato is suffering from a serious eating disorder. People quotes a source as saying that Demi Lovato struggled with eating disorders and is cutting herself. Her admission to the undisclosed medical facility is the first step towards Lovato taking charge to fight these issues.

The fight with a dancer from Demi Lovato's tour was not the sole reason behind her decision to seek professional help, but proved to be the last straw that pushed her to finally seek treatment. Lovato is allegedly suffering from several issues including body image issues.

Lovato has previously went public with her experience of childhood bullying, appearing on high profile shows such as America's Next Top Model and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She is best best known for her portrayal of Mitchie Torres in the Camp Rock films and Sonny Munroe in Sonny With a Chance. Last year, Lovato starred in another Disney movie, Princess Protection Program.
