Demi Lovato is coming to “Glee.” The former Disney star has nabbed a part in the U.S. Fox musical dramedy for its upcoming fifth season, playing Naya Rivera’s love interest.

As TVLine first reported, the U.S. “X Factor” judge is set to join the hit series for a multi-episode arc. She will play Dani, a New York-based struggling artist friend of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana (Naya).

She will appear in at least six episodes, and will begin with the second part of the Beatles’ tribute on October 3.

“I can’t believe I’m going back to acting but the best part about it is that I get to act/sing with some of my really great friends,” Demi wrote on Twitter.

Naya was at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and had given more information about her soon-to-be co-star’s role in the show.

“She’s playing my love interest, so I’m very, very excited about that,” Naya, who plays the lesbian glee club member Santana, told MTV. “We get to sing a song together. It’s gonna be good. I’m excited to work with her. We’re bringing her to the dark side.

“Well, she comes in a Beatles episode, so [we’re singing] a Beatles song. I’m excited.”

Demi will have a very busy schedule in the upcoming weeks. Aside from attending to her “Glee” shooting schedule, she will also be busy scouring for talents as judge of the “X Factor.”

Also appearing on “Glee” is the former “American Idol” contestant Adam Lambert, whose character will have frequent interaction and musical numbers with Dani (Demi).

The show will kick off with its season premiere on September 26. Once the Beatles episodes wrap up, the series will then proceed to air their tribute episode for Cory Monteith, the Canadian actor who played Finn in the show and had died in July of alcohol and heroin intoxication.

Lea, Cory’s real life girlfriend and his character’s love interest in the show, recently posted a picture of her wearing a “Finn” necklace on Instagram. It’s assumed that she was filming the tribute episode for Cory on the set of “Glee.”
