The former Disney star came out and publicly expressed her regrets over the death of Oscar winning actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman. The actor died in his Manhattan apartment after an apparent overdose on a very rare type of heroin, according to reports. The actor was found dead by his friends, who went to check up on him when the "Hunger Games" star failed to fetch his kids from school. Hoffman was 46 years old when drugs claimed him.

While many stars have also publicly expressed their grief over the incident, Demi Lovato took the opportune time to lecture on the bad effects of drugs. Having been a cocaine user herself at the tender age of 18, Lovato was confined in a rehab after her behavior went out of proportion. According to the star, her use of cocaine was so abusive that she could not last for 30 minutes without the drug.

Lovato further added on her Twitter feed "'Drugs are not something to glamorize in pop music or film to portray as harmless recreational fun. It's not cute, "cool" or admirable."

This tirade was presumably aimed towards Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Justin Bieber all of whom referenced various drugs in their songs. Demi Lovato further accuses such musicians of acting irresponsibly-especially since the latter have much influence over their fans. The musician in the limelight, Miley Cyrus, has references to cocaine and ecstasy in her song "We Can't Stop."

Moreover, Lovato wrote: "It's time people start really taking action on changing what we're actually singing/rapping about these days because you never know if you could be glamorizing a certain drug to a first time user or alcoholic who could possibly end up dead because they end up suffering from the same deadly disease so many have already died from,"

Meanwhile, "Supernatural" star Jared Padelecki called the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman as "stupid." He wrote in his Twitter before deleting it, that "sad" was not the word for the tragic death of the actor. Padalecki quickly changed the word of his tweet to "senseless" from "stupid" after an angry surge of fans bombarded his account.
