Demi Lovato Talks About One Direction's Niall Horan: 'I'm not really friends with Niall' [PHOTOS]
Despite their countless web chat dates, things aren't exactly sweet or friendly between "X-Factor's" Demi Lovato and One Direction's Niall Horan. In a recent interview, Demi talks about her lost friendship with the Irish singer plus what really went down between them.
Demi Lovato and Niall Horan, aka "Nemi", were quite hyped about last year. Both celebrities expressed their crush on each other in various radio and web interviews. However, even with their clear intent of "like", Demi and Niall claimed they're only "good friends."
Late last year, both Niall and Demi were spotted at the MTV Video Music Awards. Right after the event, Demi and Niall were allegedly spotted on casual dates. This would be enough proof that these two are clearly more than friends. Still, sources close to the couple claimed they wanted to keep the relationship "casual and loose."
"Demi's told the guys backstage she and Niall are loosely dating, it's casual but they are definitely dating, albeit long-distance," explained the insider.
Judging from Demi's latest interview, things between Niall and her have been "too loose." If anything, Demi has not kept in touch with Niall and so has the latter. When asked by HEAT magazine if Demi's still friends with Niall, Demi's answer would come as a shock to "Nemi" fans.
"Not really. Unfortunately, as sweet as he is, it's hard to maintain a friendship with somebody that you really can't hang out with without people automatically assuming that you're dating," explained Lovato.
Hopefully, things work out between Niall Horan and Demi Lovato. Lovato did say a lot of great things about the 1D singer. It would be too bad if they never managed to keep in touch.
"He has a lot of great qualities. He is an amazing listener and makes me laugh a lot, two of the main qualities I look for," said Lovato.
"He knows I have a little crush on him, and we enjoy having dinner when we get the chance. We speak and message all the time. I don't want a relationship over Skype; we are both in a place where we feel zero pressure to rush. We share the philosophy that the right one is worth waiting for," added the singer.
