Demi Lovato talks about reported gay relationship with Ruby Rose
Demi Lovato was previously rumoured to have had gay relations with Ruby Rose, after the latter claimed they had slept together. However, the singer has now responded to Ruby’s claims and denied such relations.
Lovato finally addressed the speculations two years after Rose shared on Twitter that she had a lesbian romp with the singer. In an interview with Complex magazine, she denied having been in a relationship with the actress.
“You can believe what you want, but no, I was not in a relationship with her. I don’t want people to ever look at the past or rumours or anything and try to figure me out,” she said.
However, Lovato was vague on her response when asked if she and Rose “hook up.” Instead of simply denying it, she talked about how her past or future relationships are basically not anybody’s business.
The singer said that people don’t know everything about her even her past relationships so they shouldn’t associate her with rumours. She added that what matters now are the people she’s with. Lovato brought up her relationship with her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, who News.com.au claimed she’s had an on-and-off relationship with for five years.
“With Wilmer, I’m the happiest that I’ve ever been, so that’s all that matters to me,” she told Complex magazine.
Lovato previously teased she may be bisexual during an appearance on Alan Carr’s “The Chatty Man Show.” When asked if her new song “Cool for the Summer” had anything to do with homosexual relations, the singer declined to be specific in her response. In the video below, she is seen giving a wide grin before saying, “I’m not confirming and I’m definitely not denying.”
Back in 2013, Rose, known for playing Stella Carlin in “Orange Is the New Black,” had basically suggested that she had lesbian sex with Lovato. In a now deleted tweet shared by Metro UK, the Australian actress said, “Im like the one person demi has slept with that didn’t sell on naked photos of her so eff off.”
The 29-year old received backlash from fans of the “Heart Attack” singer so deleted her tweet and said she’d take a break from Twitter. But not before she sent a trio of messages calling out internet trolls.
