Dennis Rodman has been invited by North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un to bring an NBA All-Star team in January.

Kim Jong-un, an avid basketball fan, is organising the tournament. A team of twelve former NBA players will play in the basketball tournament. Rodman just came back in the U.S. after his second trip to North Korea, and he would try to gather an All-Star team that would include Chicago Bull's Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone who used to play for the Utah Jazz.

It is definitely going to be exciting to see former NBA superstars all play in a tournament. What is even more exciting is that these basketball legends are going to be playing together in one team. It should not be impossible.

"I am not kidding. You got to take me seriously," said Rodman at a press conference.

Rodman has developed an unlikely friendship with the Communist leader, who he describes as "a good father who has a beautiful family." He is proud to say that he was the first foreign person to hold Kim's baby, named Ju-ae, according to him.

The NBA legend also plan on doing an interview with Kim and brags that it is going to be Kim's first broadcast interview. Kim assumed office in December 2011, following the death of his father. His reign has always been the centre of attention due to his alleged crimes against humanity.

There are not much details and information about the tournament as of the time being, but Rodman is committed to making it happen. He believes that it would help ease the tension and bridge the gap between the U.S. and North Korea. Rodman's visit to North Korea is his way of building the ties between the two countries through sports or basketball. "We discussed our plans of organising a basketball game between their national team and the U.S., a historic friendly basketball game," says Rodman. Two basketball exhibition games are expected in January, and Rodman hopes to assemble a great team of NBA legends together with him.
