Derrick Rose On Hamstring Injury: It's Getting Better Everyday
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose feels that his left hamstring is slowly recovering, after incurring a strain on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors.
The 26-year-old former University of Memphis standout had been sidelined for about two-and-a-half seasons, on aggregate, since tearing the ACL of his left knee in 2011, which was followed by a torn meniscus in the opposite knee during the early stages of the 2013-14 campaign.
Since then, the Bulls have been very cautious in dealing with injuries that concerned their starman, and have recently opted to rest him due to the said thigh problem.
"[It's] getting better every day, still taking my time," said Rose.
"[The hamstring] is just calming down. It's not as sore, just really trying to listen to my body again and get the most out of every day."
After having gone through a lot of setbacks, Rose knows he needs to be extra careful with his health and acknowledged that each anatomical part of his body plays a part to have him back in tip-top shape.
"For sure," he stressed of the importance of his hamsting.
"Especially when you have knee problems, or knee injuries. The hamstrings are huge in the process of coming back. You need them, they control everything, as far as decelerating, so I guess you need them a lot, especially with the way that I play."
