Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose and Mieka Reese are no longer a couple, as reported by Larrybrownsports.com

Mieka announced the split from the NBA superstar on her Instagram account. She posted a picture of their son. Its caption reads "This picture speaks volumes to me." "PJ is the center of my life now," Mieka posted. "Derrick and I are no longer in a relationship but our friendship has always been there and will continue to grow," she added. "Derrick and I work together to co-parent for him, even if our only purpose in life was to create our son, I am fine with that, my son is the greatest gift I could have asked for," posted Mieka.

The couple's son has just turned one year old on Oct 9.

According to the grapevine, Derrick and Mieka have not been living together for quite some time now. Why did she think it was necessary to announce their breakup on Instagram, well, we have no earthly idea!

The couple was allegedly having some tough times. Mieka left the apartment that she shares with Derrick in order to have some space. It was reported that Mieka found Derrick in bed with another woman, which drove her to the wall and made her finalise her breakup with the basketball superstar.

All good things must come to an end. If the couple feels that breaking up is the right decision, no one can absolutely question that. Derrick and Mieka should not forget to take care of and support their son.

In the meantime, everyone is excited to see and witness the comeback of Derrick Rose on the hard court when his team Chicago Bulls faces Lebron James' team, two-time defending champion, Miami Heat, on Oct 29.
