"Destiny" is a first-person shooter video game, which was developed by Bungie and published by Activision Facebook/Destiny

Players of “Destiny” are thrilled that Bungie and Activision have announced the return of “Festival Of The Lost,” which is the game’s Halloween activity. In addition, “Wrath Of The Machine” and “Sparrow Racing League” will directly follow.

“Festival Of The Lost” is officially making its way back to “Destiny” on Oct. 25, right in time to get players in the Halloween mood. The challenge will run for a total of two weeks and will conclude on Nov. 8. The mode will allow players to collect various masks and candies, as well as the Crucible Cathedral Of Dusk map for those who play via “Destiny: Taken King.”

In total, there are 16 masks to be collected, which can be worn during challenges in order for players to receive more rewards. The masks can otherwise be dismantled and traded with Eva Lavante. Candies, on the other hand, are collected during regular game play. Eating the candies will give players a temporary buff on various stats, but these will need to be consumed before the end of the festival.

Quickly following “Festival Of The Lost” is the challenge mode of “Wrath Of The Machine.” Giving the mode a bit of an update, Bungie is allowing players to take on more dangerous risks, which result in bigger rewards. Previous Raid bosses will be back, tougher than ever.

Then in December, “Sparrow League Racing” will again be part of the “Destiny” universe. This will include more than just racing, as the game developer has announced it will release new weapon skins -- particularly for Bad Juju, Red Death, Thorn, Black Spindle and The Last Word -- as well.

On plans for 2017, Bungie has remained silent. However, it is likely that “Destiny” will get other updates depending on the season. Earlier this year year, fans saw “Crimson Day,” as well as an update sometime in April. The most significant expansion for the year, however, has been “Destiny: Rise Of Iron,” which now available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
