Dexter Season 8, Episode 5 is called "This Little Piggy." The episode starts with the brain enthusiast momma speaking to her favoured son Dexter and his significant other (though not in its conventional sense), Debra. The Morgans are in for some family therapy. (How cute for Dexter!) Towards the end of this episode, this little family kills together.

"Debra, it seems that you tried to kill Dexter as well as yourself," the Psychopath Whisperer opens the show. Dr Vogel is accurate in summing up Dexter Season 8, Episode 4 ("Scar Tissue").

Dexter's emotions and facial expressions during the therapy are very interesting to watch. The guy is rarely ever upset. Even when he's mad, he's often in a state of calm. But her sister almost left Harrison an orphan. So Dexter is fuming, narrowing his eyes, and yelling at Debra. Looking at Michael C. Hall, however, the nuances and vibe suggest Dexter's offended for something much less than an attempt at ending his life. But then how much rage can viewers expect from a cold-blooded, supposedly empathy-challenged serial killer?

Jennifer Carpenter's Debra is recovering from PTSD, apparently. But she's still lost. "I've never seen him so mad," she says. (Sister, you tried to kill him and yourself. You just ripped open a whole new version of Dexter.) Dr Vogel says he's been "deeply hurt."

Dexter Season 8, Episode 5 is ("This Little Piggy") presents Dexter in another state of emotion to viewers. For a long time, he's been a responsible significant other to Rita. And then he becomes a dad. Later he falls for Hannah McKay. Then his sister discovers who he is, and he tries to help her recover from all the shock. So much has happened in the past seven seasons of the show. But like Debra, the viewers are seeing a very mad Dexter for the first time.

Changes are picking up at this point in the series. In fact, the developments here make it the best episode so far into Dexter Season 8. On the first one-thirds of the season, Dexter's been reaching out to Deb. What could be waiting on the final episode trifecta? Be reminded, there are only seven episodes left in Dexter's final season.
