Dexter Season 8, Episode 9 ("Make Your Own Kind of Music") answers Hannah McKay's question to Dr Vogel during the dinner for serial killers in last week's episode. Viewers learn how the psychopath whisperer wound up doing what she's doing now.

Dr Vogel hyper analysing Dexter in the middle of his investigation into Zach Hamilton's murder. She calls him the imperfect psychopath.

Dexter Morgan tells Dr Vogel he will kill the Brain Surgeon and then have a life with Hannah McKay. She's pretty much okay with the killing part, but she insists Dexter should not pursue family life.

Debra Morgan finds out the deal with Zach in the "serial killers convention" scene from Dexter Season 8, Episode 8.

Dexter discovers the connection between Dr Evelyn Vogel, FBI's "Psychopath Whisperer" and the Brain Surgeon. Daniel Vogel is the son of his "spiritual mother." Viewers begin to finally understand Dr Vogel's frustration on Dexter's unconventional ways - a serial killer who cares for his sister Debra and in-love with Hannah McKay. Dexter is simply not like her relatively more abominable son.

Daniel Vogel is Oliver Saxon, the guy dating Cassie before she was murdered. The same guy whom Quinn interviewed. The Brain Surgeon has been active since Dexter Season 8, Episode 1. Daniel's been watching Dexter that long.

Lt Batista introduces a U.S. marshal to Dexter. Dex learns the feds are on Hannah's tail. He warns her; they act as fast as they can. And they seek sanctuary in Deb's place.

Debra soon catches up on the Brain Surgeon trail with Jamie's help. She meets Daniel Vogel aka Oliver Saxon aka The Brain Surgeon. And he does not like her. Deb's followers are now getting worried if he'd be a threat against her life. Dex thinks the same, too. He tells his sis to stay away from the "more dangerous" Saxon.

Dex confirms to Dr Vogel Daniel aka Oliver is her son. Now she's no longer okay with kill-the-brain-surgeon mission.

Hannah and Dexter talk in Deb's quaint home. (Such a strange sight, indeed.) They talk about Argentina. Starting a life together.

Dexter tricks Dr Vogel so she'd arrange a meeting with her son. But Dex drugs her in order to tail Saxon and kill him. As always, however, Saxon is two step ahead.

Dexter tells Hannah only Deb will know he and Hannah are moving to Argentina. But in Dexter Season 8, Episode 9 final act, Dex tells Dr Vogel - and by extension, the angry brain surgeon, of his plans. How will this affect the next turn of events?
