Devina DeDiva, the woman who posted racist comments about the crowning of Megan Young as Miss World along with insensitive bashing of the Filipino race, reportedly made an apology on her Twitter account.

DeDiva drew the ire of the entire Filipino people after coming up with racial slur against Young and the nation she represented at the recently concluded Miss World 2013.

"Miss Philippines is Miss World? What a joke? I didn't know those maids have anything else in them. Hahaha."

The alleged Singapore-based Manchester University student went on to ridicule Filipinos, whom she called poor, smelly, uneducated maids.

Filipino netizens responded with a lot of backlash against Dediva, while fellow beauty queens gave their all-out support to Young, who just ended the country's long wait for a Miss Word title-holder.

"To all her detractors, bless your hearts. That's all I can say. I am proud of and grateful for Megan's simplicity and golden heart," told Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez to the Inquirer.

Gemma Cruz-Araneta, Miss International 1964, asked pointedly: "What's wrong with being a maid? Is that a crime?"

Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe first runnerup 1999, says: "I have nothing to say (to those critics). Let Megan show the world how great she is as a Filipino woman. Meanwhile, let's all do our best to uplift our country by giving nobility to our jobs...wherever we are. This is a call for everyone to step up and show the world that we are kind, God-fearing people."

Jennifer Cortes, Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 1978, quipped: "Seems the Philippines has become a powerhouse (in the pageant scene). Lots of people are getting envious. Sad about the personal attacks, but we are a country of beautiful people."

Few days later, the most-hated woman in the Philippines reportedly made a public apology on her Twitter account, expressing her remorse for the insensitive comments.

"Im so sorry @meganbata and to all the Filipinos out there. Sorry. I don't have a twitter account so I made one just to show my apology," posted by Dediva.

Several Filipinos also showed their sympathy to what appeared to be a remorseful DeDiva, sending their apology for the harsh words fellow Filipino netizens thrown at her over the past few days.

"Thanks for the Filipinos who forgiven me and I'm sorry to those who hates me. I'm sorry again," DeDiva added.

The authenticity of DeDiva Twitter account is in question given that it has been created roughly a day ago and only has one follower so far. Then again, even the initial Facebook account of her might not be legit. Identity theft is everywhere and she might be just another victim of a dubious plot to taint the reputation of the new Miss World.

I over think things. I underestimate people. I make mistakes. I regret some things I've done. I'm not perfect. No one is.
