It’s about time, says friends and millions of fans of Kristen Stewart’s ex, Robert Pattinson after Dior Homme Fragrance had finally announced the British hunk as official Ambassador for its latest campaign.

After months of waiting and much speculations about Dior commercials and Rob’s involvement in it, the months of waiting of his supporters have finally paid off. 48 hours of countdown by French journalist Yves Bongarcon and Rob’s fans could not help but get more excited than the actor for the upcoming Dior commercial.

On June 11, 2013, Robert Dior Homme Fragrance had finally announced Robert as the new face of the fashion house. In honor of Robert’s new role as Ambassador of Dior Homme Fragrance, a party was held at West Hollywood’s Soho House Tuesday, where some of the images of the campaign were unveiled as soft launch of his campaign.

Attended by Dior employees who, according to E! News flew in from France, the intimate gathering was aimed at taking a first look of the racy ad Robert had earlier shot for the campaign. What supposed to be “for-your-eyes-only” didn’t turn out as planned. Some of these images were captured by enterprising friends and fans of Robert, who were generous enough to share it on Instagram.

A close look at the photos showed a Robert like we haven’t seen before. Fans agree that these images of Robert, albeit captured using high-end mobile phones and taken not in high resolution, show a different part of him that his followers have yet to see. A well-defined cheekbone and eyes on fire represent more intensity and emotions like anyone have yet to see in Robert.

In a statement released by Dior Homme Fragrance it underscored two major reasons why Robert is the perfect Ambassador for its latest ad campaign: one for how Robert has evolved through the years and two, Robert has proven the scope of his talents.

What Robert has become since Harry Potter
The House of Dior finds Robert’s development as an actor as one factor the house of fashion is looking for in its Ambassador. Having achieved such immense success at such a young age and able to grow from day one could serve as a good role model, one with a good name.

“The House of Dior is delighted to announce that actor Robert Pattinson is to be the new face of Dior Homme fragrance. Since his first notable role in 2005 in the fourth Harry Potter sequel, film star Robert Pattinson has more recently come to be known through his role in the runaway box office success, the Twilight saga…” the Dior Homme Fragrance statement said in a statement.

Robert has proven versatility and scope of talents
Robert choices and the path he took to ensure success in his career in the film industry has also been considered by Dior when they approached Robert for the project.

Dior continued in the statement, “He has since proven the scope of his acting talents by choosing films as varied as Remember Me by Allen Coulter, Water for Elephants by Francis Lawrence, in which he starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, or with his role as Bel-Ami, the famous Maupassant character. Today we are excited to announce that he will join the privileged circle of Dior faces.”

Robert’s Dior campaign was described “racy” in earlier reports. It will be recalled that his involvement in Dior had made the headlines as early as October 2012 and again in March 2013. It was reported that Dior campaign will come into play in May and fans could not be happier to see the project push through despite a month’s delay.
