Director Surprised About Michelle Williams' Marilyn Monroe Singing Voice [PHOTOS]
'My Week with Marilyn' Director Simon Curtis was pleasantly surprised at his pick for the starring role for his film. He was delighted at the sound of Michelle Williams' voice and her sultry movements as she sang and danced her way through the movie as she portrays the blonde bombshell in Hollywood's golden years.
"I did not have any idea that she is a brilliant singer. That was a happy surprise. Turns out, she is one of the most brilliant singers and actresses that I have had the chance to work with," says Curtis.
A lot of Michelle Willliams' fans will be quite surprised to see the actress in all her singing glory as they know that this is the first time that the Oscar-nominated actress will sing and dance on screen.
"Nobody has ever seen me sing and dance," shares Williams in her interview during the AFI Fest.
"You haven't been in my shower," she exclaims.
A short clip from the film 'My Week with Marilyn' was released featuring the singing voice of Michelle Williams. Critics say that she does look and sounds like the blonde icon as she sang the famous song 'Heat Wave'. The song is the hit from the 1954 movie 'There's No Business like Show Business', one that made Marilyn Monroe skyrocket to fame.
Michelle Williams, now 31, is considered a dead ringer of the late blonde bombshell of Hollywood. She wore a sparkling nude coloured dress featuring a slit up her thighs. The hair and makeup department completed her look with Monroe's signature blonde bob and fiery red lips. Williams moves sexily around the stage as male dancers backed her up and ends the scene with a flirty sexy kiss to the camera, just like how Marilyn Monroe has done it before.
Marilyn Monroe's fans will surely be happy with Michelle Williams' portrayal of one of the most recognized icons in the entertainment industry. The movie focuses on that one week back in 1956 when Colin Clark, an assistant to Sir Laurence Olivier, took care of the actress while she stayed in England for the filming of the movie 'The Prince and the Showgirl'.
