The first trailer of Disney's "Cinderalla" was released online on Nov. 19. Cate Blanchett plays the evil step-mother in Kenneth Branagh's live-action adaptation of the fairy-tale.

"I have to tell you a secret that will see you through all the trials that life can offer," the trailer starts dramatically while revealing the theme of the movie, "Have courage and be kind." Little Ella gets a significant lesson of life from her mother who meets a tragic death soon after. Her stepmother, Lady Tremaine, played by Blanchett, is then introduced with a grey cat symbolically accompanying her. Her merchant father believes that she will be safe with her stepmother and her two step-sisters Drisella and Anastasia. No time is wasted to get viewers acquainted with the evil side of Blanchett's character as she suggests young Ella, played by Lily James, if she would prefer eating after all the work is done. The first sentence we hear from the stepmother establishes her character and approach toward her step-daughter.

Blanchett's evil side is further established as she asks Ella not to call her anything but "madam." Ella is immediately seen being ridiculed by her stepsisters who are apparently encouraged by their mother. This is where Ella gets her name "Cinderella," which is maliciously given to her by her stepsisters because she works in the cinders. Ella, who seems to have reached the breaking point with the mockery and drudgery, breaks free by storming out of the house with her horse. This is when she meets a fine young gentleman in the woods, who would later be identified as her "Prince Charming" Kit played by Richard Madden. Ella is, however, not aware that he is a prince as she mistakes him as one of the employees in the palace. She gets impressed by his kind nature. Both of them express their desire to meet each other once again.

The next segment of the trailer introduces the invitation to the ball at the palace. Ella decides to wear her mother's old dress, which is torn by Tremaine who warns her against attending the ball. Ella tearfully watches her stepsisters leave for the ball, all dressed up. Here comes her "fairy godmother" who brings the first glimpse of the visual effects in the movie. A pumpkin turns into a chariot, while rats become giant milky horses. Ella's torn old dress becomes a dashing blue gown as she is given shoes made of glass. She approaches the ball like a princess as the prince confirms that everyone at the party is looking at her. The final segment leaves us waiting for a movie which promises "kindness, goodness and magic." The clock strikes 12 and the drama intensifies.

Disney's Cinderella hits theatres in March 2015.
