The Terror Squad producer insists his proposal was sincere, even though he hasn't heard back from the 'Super Bass' singer. The record producer says he hasn't heard from Minaj about his proposal, but he also hasn't heard from the police about any restraining order either .

"Y'all know better than that they don't put restraining orders on bosses," Khaled, 37, tweeted on Sunday.

Nicki Minaj took to social networking site Instagram on Sunday to respond to a marriage proposal recently made by rapper DJ Khaled, amid claims suggesting the pop star filed a restraining order against him.

The Hip Hop producer, real name Khaled bin Abdul Khaled, publicly "proposed" to Minaj, 30, via MTV. He reportedly flashed a 10-carat, radiant-cut sparkler worth approximately $500,000 while pouring his heart out about his feelings for the pop star.

"Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine. I'm here at MTV because it's a worldwide network. Only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you're busy," Khaled said in the video.

"Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?" Khaled said while flashing the alleged engagement ring. "I feel like you need a man like me in your life."

Twitter immediately went into overdrive as fans began speculating whether the proposal is legitimate or perhaps a publicity stunt.

Shortly after the proposal went viral Minaj, who was once romantically linked to her hype man, Safaree Lloyd Samuels, posted a photo on Instagram which raised questions about whether the "Starships" singer and Khaled are in fact an item.

"It's all u need," Minaj wrote in a caption alongside a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the word "LOVE."

Critics are questioning whether Khaled's proposal to his fellow Cash Money artist is a publicity stunt. On Sunday, hours after posting the t-shirt photo, Minaj took to Twitter where she revealed that an announcement of some kind will be made Monday morning.

"1st announcement happens tomorrow morning 9am EST," Minaj tweeted July

Many have pointed out that "Suffering from Success" is the name of DJ Khaled's upcoming album, which does feature an as-yet-unnamed collaboration with Minaj, 30, so it could all just be a ploy to draw attention to his music.

Another reason Minaj probably hasn't accepted his marriage proposal is that she was recently spotted with a huge ring from another man on her left hand. The "Super Bass" singer has reportedly been in a serious relationship with her assistant Safaree Samuels since 2010.

It sounds fishy. Do you think Nicki really filed a restraining order against DJ Khaled or just generating hype?
