'Django Unchained' Actress, Danielle Watts, was arrested after she was spotted kissing a white man, her boyfriend, Brian Lucas, in a car. The Los Angeles Police are investigating to see if race had any role to play in her getting arrested and detained.

She wrote about the incident on her Facebook page on Sep. 11. Her post went as follows:

Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place.

When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn't harming anyone, so I walked away.

A few minutes later, I was still talking to my dad when 2 different police officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs.

According to New York Daily News, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that on Sep. 11 at around 03.00 pm, it had detained both, Watts and Lucas. They added that their officers were responding to a 911 call about a complaint of 'indecent exposure' by people in a silver Mercedes.

Brian Lucas wrote on his Facebook page that from the questions that the cop was asking him, he could make out that the cop that they were a prostitute and a client. He added that he gave his ID to the cops, but Watts refused to do so, which led to her detention and cuffing.

Watts was shortly released from police custody, but it seems that she hadn't left unscathed. Lucas said that he had posted a picture of blood dripping from her hands due to a puncture made by the handcuffs.

Actor Amin El Gamal posted a tweet on his Twitter page in support of Danielle. He wrote:

This is not the first time that the Los Angeles cops are being blamed for racial discrimination. Charles Belk, a black film producer, was handcuffed and detained for six hours when the police confused him with a suspected bank robber.
