Darren Robertson got 9 months imprisonment as the allegations of him possessing child pornography had been proved to be correct. Mr Robertson is best known for his previous association with Kelowna radio.

Mr Robertson, who used to work for Sun FM as a music director, used Doc Roberts as his public name. He was a part of AM 1150, which is Sun FM's sister station, as a host in the afternoon programmes.

Mr Robertson has recently become a father. He was allegedly possessing child pornography as he got arrested in 2012 as a part of the police operation worldwide to bust an international child pornography business. Kelowna provincial court sentenced on Wednesday morning Mr Robertson to 9 months imprisonment.

He is going to serve the sentence at Calgary. This is the same place where Mr Robertson lives along with his legal partner. His baby daughter, who was born during summer 2013, also lives with him.

Mr Robertson was often considered as the best music director for his performance on Sun FM. He was previously won several awards given by the eminent organisation, the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards. He was chosen in the category of 'small market'.

Mr Robertson, however, left the music market at Kelowna in 2011. He has been working in a Calgary radio station ever since. He has been working as a news reader in the private station. His show is called News Talk 770. On the other hand, Mr Robertson's lawyer confirms that he was recently asked to leave the position.

He was found buying pornographic images in 2006. Those were of children who were sexually assaulted while they were photographed. A global police investigation recorded that Robertson had purchased the images from an Italian Web site.

The Kelowna RCMP confiscated Robertson's personal computer where at least 240 videos and images of child pornographic nature were found. Kelly Christiansen, the lawyer who defended Robertson, said his client was remorseful of the act when he realised that real children were sexually assaulted while the videos and images were taken.
