Joaquin Phoenix name has reportedly come up again as being the lead star of Marvel's "Doctor Strange." This news came after several sites have gotten hold of information that the actor has met up with some people over at Marvel about the film.

Collider reports the actor's name was mentioned again following rumours that Jack Huston is in talks for the lead role. However, a source has allegedly confirmed that there's no truth to Huston being "under consideration" for the film. Joaquin Phoenix is still very much in the picture to play as Doctor Strange. Badass Digest's Devin Faraci adds the actor met with Marvel last week to finalize the movie deal.

Joaquin Phoenix as "Doctor Strange" would be a "major get" for the movie says Faraci, as the actor is no longer a newcomer. He is at his "absolute prime" when it comes to acting and he is also a "major talent." Inquisitr adds his three Academy Awards are proof enough of his acting prowess.

The site claims Joaquin Phoenix has a talent for owning his role whatever it may be. The actor has timelessly proved his versatility when it comes to acting. He has shown his cruel side as a cold-blooded emperor in "Gladiator" while veering off as an introvert in "Her."

Furthermore, according to Faraci, the actor previously thought of joining Marvel's cinematic universe through "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." He reportedly mulled over the role of Lex Luthor before Jesse Eisenberg was cast. Apparently, this time he can focus his consideration over the possibility of making his first ever superhero movie as Doctor Strange.

Another reason why Joaquin Phoenix would be a great choice according to Inquisitr is because of his strange personality. The actor pulled off a mysterious appearance in 2009 during his appearance on Letterman all for the sake of acting. There's a mystery to Joaquin Phoenix that will reportedly suit Marvel's sorcerer, who is believed to be a strange character in the comics. Bringing in the "Walk the Line" actor will reportedly bring out a new cinematic definition for Doctor Strange like no one has ever seen before.
