Peter Capaldi is a Scottish actor who is also a film director and screenwriter. The veteran actor is 55 years-old who is much older than many other Time Lords but the same age as first Doctor Who William Hartnell. The veteran actor has an impressive resume as he is already an Oscar winning screenwriter and director for the shot film titled "Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life." He is also the winner of prestigious BAFTA award, Chlotrudis Award and British Comedy Awards.
The actor who is playing the twelfth Doctor Who has been on the long running show before. Peter Capaldi appeared in the 2008 episode of the show where he played the character called Caecilius. He played the character who David Tennant's Tenth Doctor encountered in ancient Pompeii. The twelfth Doctor also appeared in "Doctor Who's" spin-off called "Torchwood."
Capaldi was born in Glasgow and studied in Glasgow School of Art. He had an interest in acting and arts since the time he was in primary school.
